The history of our district and of the Community Association reveals a strong and vibrant group of settlers, one that began as an agricultural, fishing and logging community. A school, church services by the lake and a barge delivering mail and supplies to our local post office/supply store, provided the social fabric for the pioneers who first arrived. As land was cleared and homes built a broader community took shape. By 1950 residents rallied to begin the building of a Community Hall and the establishment of a “Society”. that would provide a place for the community to gather. The foundation of that Hall remains today.

So, to begin this year’s celebration a 75th anniversary commemorative calendar of those early days has been printed, capturing some of the stories and images of Eagle Bay in those pioneering days.
